Congratulations to our University of Hawai'i Warriors, the only Division I college football team in the nation to go a perfect 12-0!
Some have called this Warrior team, "a team of destiny". Perhaps, rightly so. In many games this year, the Warriors fought back, came from behind and found a way to win, sometimes down to the last seconds.
Tonight, trailing Washington of the Pac-10, 21-0 in the first quarter, the Warriors battled back and scored a seeming game winning touchdown, to lead 35-28 by the fourth quarter. With just over 30 seconds left, Washington moved the ball down the length of the field on two big plays to the Hawai'i 4-yard line with 12 seconds left. The Huskies threw into the corner of the end zone to an open receiver, who bobbled the ball, then kicked it up into the air where Hawai'i defender Ryan Mouton snatched it out of the air, intercepting the ball and assuring Hawai'i's victory.
Perhaps these Warriors truly are a team of destiny.
Believe!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sadly, you know that pride and ego will keep the haters like the Craig James and Mel Kipers of the sports world from ever admitting the Warriors and Colt Brennan are the real deal, but despite their supposed expert knowledge, the facts remain:
- the Hawai'i Warriors are the ONLY undefeated Div.1 team in the nation, a perfect 12-0.
- 2007 WAC Conference Champions.
- Colt Brennan broke several NCAA records as quarterback.
- "system quarterback"? System or not, he still completed the passes, he wins games; Colt Brennan knows how to win games. And, THAT, boys, is what matters.
- despite all kinds of adversity, the Warriors always found a way to win.
- Beat a Pac-10 team that many experts say had the toughest schedule in the nation.
Bottom line, Hawai'i has done what few other have ever been able to do.
Despite your best efforts to marginalize Hawai'i's accomplishments, the facts fly in the face of everything you say.
The Warriors are for real. Deal with it.
"Eo na toa e!"

This is probably a weird first post. Actually, I thought I was just adding an audio file for people to listen to apart from the main blog, but I guess not. Obviously, I'm still learning how to use Vox and, of course, being a guy, it's not like I'm going to be reading the directions, so it's gonna kinda be trial and error.
In 2003, I had the opportunity to "make history" and be a part of "Kikaida Brothers Live!", a live stage show featuring lead actors Ban Daisuke (Jiro/Kikaida) and Ikeda Shunsuke (Ichiro/Kikaida 01) telling an original story created especially for the audience in Hawaii.
Using masks and costumes indistinguishable from the Toei Studios originals, the majority of which were created by my good friend and ultra talented artist, Layne Luna, I had the opportunity to play "Inazuman", whose "human form", Watari Goro, was also played by none other than actor Ban Daisuke. It was basically a small cameo part at the end of the show...a piece that was actually designed to re-introduce the then soon to be aired return of Kamen Rider V3 to the airwaves of Hawaii. But, it was such an honor, after the first of three shows, when I came off stage, Ban-san came up to me, shook my hand and said, "You did a great job! You are Inazuman!" Imagine, being congratulated by the real Watari Goro/Inazuman on playing the suited character of the show he starred in!
In honor of this show, our good friend and uber talented musician and composer, Ronnie Esteban, created several "remixes" of the original themes from some of the tokusatsu (literally, an abbrevation for the Japanese term for "special photography", but is synonymous with "Japanese superhero") characters we portrayed. Below is the remix Ronnie created for the character I played (Inazuman) and the origins of my screen name here and on Flickr.
That is why I am Watari Goro.
